If you make your way along the coastal road towards Hout Bay, you will find the spectacular seaside suburb of Llandudno. This well-known surf spot is a favourite holiday location all year round. Visit Llandudno Main beach and spend a fun-filled day of swimming, surfing, sand and sunbathing. This pristine beach is positioned between the famous granite boulders, has Little Lion’s Head as a backdrop and is somewhat smaller and a bit more secluded than Camps Bay. If you’re heading out with family or friends, it would however be smart to make your way there early and make get a great spot, as it does get quite full when the sun comes out to play. For those vacationers looking to experience something completely different and perhaps a bit R-rated, take walk down to Sandy Bay. This stretch of coastline is a popularly private strand for nude sunbathing and swimming. Sandy Bay might not be for everyone, but if you can wrap your mind around all the naked around you, you will be pleasantly surprised by the magnificent views from here and the walk down to the beach is out of this world.
A little further down the coastal road towards Bakoven lies Oudekraal, another local favourite on the seashore and great alternative to Llandudno or Sandy on a very busy day. Huge granite boulders ensure this hidden alcove is a safe swimming beach and provides shelter from the wind. With picnic and Braai areas, Oudekraal provides a great place to kick back and relax. Being that Llandudno is one of the few areas with no commercial developments and is known for its privacy and security, staying here is quite exclusive. Make sure to book your self-catering accommodation a while in advance to ensure an incredibly beautiful and luxurious holiday in one of the most stunning settings on the Atlantic Seaboard. Renting a car to accompany your vacation trip is the ideal solution if you're looking to explore Cape Town's many attractions and beautiful beaches. Since there are no shops in Llandudno itself, you would need to drive to Hout Bay which is a brief 2-minute driveway or you can always visit the popular Camps Bay Promenade. Hout Bay offers a nice variety of shops and restaurants which will make your holiday a comfortable one. Llandudno is one of the safest areas due to the proactive LCA, LNW and ADT companies. ADT's patrol car patrols the area 24/7 and it's residents feel very safe.
Llandudno Beach is hidden gem that most people don’t consider. Because the town of Llandudno doesn't have any shops whatsoever, it tends to be forgotten but make no mistake, the Llandudno and Sandy Bay beaches have a lot to offer and the locals prefer to keep it under wraps. Llandudno beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town and sunsets here are breathtaking. Surfers love it here, the waves can get pretty big. The beach is surrounded by giant rocks on either end and one can spend hours exploring coves or taking a walk toward Sandy Bay over the very entertaining rocks that lead the way. Sandy Bay is Cape Town’s only nude beach, it is very secluded and one can get there in a couple minutes walk from Sandy Bay parking lot or from Llandudno Beach if you take a long walk over the rocks or on the trial. During Summer vendors do sells snacks, drinks and ice-cream even though there are no shops in Llandudno.
